Do You Pay House Cleaners Before or After?

Practices vary by company. Here is how it works with us, and what to ask any cleaner before you book.

The short answer

With Cleaning Care Solutions, payment is due at the time of service. Card or electronic check through HousecallPro is preferred, or we can keep a card on file and charge each cleaning after you've approved the work.

Every cleaning company sets its own payment rules, and independent cleaners often do something different again. Before you book anyone in Fairfield, it is worth knowing when payment is due, how you can pay, and what happens if something gets missed.

How payment works with us

Our terms and conditions spell it out:

  • When: payment is due at the time of service.
  • How: credit or debit card, or electronic check through HousecallPro. It is secure and leaves an electronic record for your files.
  • Card on file: if you prefer, we keep a card on file and charge each cleaning after you've approved our work.

Your quote spells out what is included before anything is booked, so the amount due matches the scope you agreed to.

If something gets missed

We inspect our work before leaving. If you find something was missed, contact us within 24 hours and we will correct it. We don't offer refunds, but we are happy to fix any mistake we made, and requests after the 24-hour window are folded into your next scheduled visit.

Rescheduling and cancellations

Plans change. Give us two days' notice to change or cancel a visit. With less notice, a fee of half that visit applies, because the spot usually can't be filled. For a permanent cancellation of a recurring plan, we ask for two weeks' notice.

What to ask any cleaner before booking

  1. When is payment due, and how can I pay?
  2. What exactly is included in the price?
  3. What happens if something is missed?
  4. What is the policy for rescheduling or cancelling?

Clear answers to those four questions avoid most surprises. Tipping is a separate question; see our guide on whether to tip house cleaners.
